The performers are teachers and students from the Local Music Teachers Association and our members. We will play music following what our emotions might go through after the tragic invents. We invite Beth Haynes, PhD and learn what we can do for ourselves and for our children. We will talk about the role of music too. We will accept donations and donate to the Ventura County Community Foundation.

I am a licensed psychologist with a private practice in Thousand Oaks, CA since 1997. I facilitate a weekly support group for Pregnancy and Infancy Loss sponsored by Hospice of the Conejo. Treating parents who have had a child die is a major specialty, which requires a great deal of experience and sensitivity. I also facilitated thesupport group for the loved ones of the victims killed on the Metrolink crash in Simi Valley. I treat families and individuals in high conflict custody and divorce battles. Reunification between alienated parents and children is a primary interest. I am certified in EMDR and work frequently with trauma and complicated grief. My research background is in the area of grief related to pregnancy loss, infertility, and child loss. I have completed the training in death and dying provided by Hospice of the Conejo. I hold certificates in Behavioral Medicine and Chemical Dependency. I have completed training in Biofeedback with Terry Oleson, Ph.D. and a didactic training with supervision with Marielle Fuller at UCLA’s Neuropsychiatric Institute in her specialized guided imagery techniques. I was the Director of Youth Services at Hospice of the Conejo for 6 years running a weekly support group for grieving children and overseeing the parent and teen groups. I oversaw active Hospice cases, where a child was present. I had a company called AUDIOPSYCH for many years, which was an educational preparation program for psychologists taking the California State Orals Examination in Psychology.

Tyler Kim was born and raised in Southern California. He is 16 years old and has been playing the piano since the age of 5. He also has played the saxophone for 4 years in middle school and high school wind ensemble. At the moment he is working to attain his level ten Certificate of Merit for piano. He enjoys listening to and playing contemporary pieces because they are very abstract and different from earlier period music. His favorite composers are Kapustin, Ginastera, and Bartok. For him, playing contemporary pieces is a time of relaxation. In his leisure time he likes to edit his own videos using relaxing music. He plays chess at school with his friends. He is eager to pursue a degree in engineering and wants to be a pioneer in building cars.
Susan Mastrolonardo completed her diploma in piano performance with the Royal Schools of Music and graduated summa cum laude with her BS and MBA from Arizona State University. She enjoys teaching piano to students of all ages and levels. Her teaching philosophy embodies a famous quote by J.S. Bach: "The final aim and reason of all music is nothing other than the glorification of God and the refreshment of the spirit." She currently serves as the President of MTAC Conejo Valley Branch.
Ornela Ervin graduated with honors from the Academy of Fine Arts in Albania. She teaches piano in Thousand Oaks. Ornela is a member of the Sadigursky-Ervin piano duo and the Luminoso quartet. Ornela serves on the board of the MTAC Conejo Valley, Thousand Oaks Philharmonic and the Sara Compinsky masterclass series.
Chloe Brill is a bassoonist and a senior in high school this year. Outside of bassoon, she plays the baritone sax in jazz band and the euphonium in marching band. Some of her favorite pastimes outside of music are playing card games with her friends and modeling. She is hoping to continue music in college by getting a double degree in music and psychology.
Leo Kim is 15 years old, in the ninth grade. Has been playing piano for over half his life. He will be attending level 10 CM piano tests. He enjoys making music electronically with the use of programs. He dreams to be successful in the rap music industry. His favorite period of music to play is contemporary. He plans to join the drum line in his sophomore year of high school. Playing piano helps him learn new things and improves his music making.

Translation by Alex Hast
